A $63 billion financing arrangement announced on October 26, 2026, is set to support the deployment of Broadcom-powered AI computing capacity for Anthropic. Bank of America, Citi, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone are providing or arranging financing, with equipment deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
How the financing structure works
The headline amount is not an immediate cash investment in Anthropic or revenue already earned by Broadcom. A newly formed special-purpose vehicle will finance purchases of Broadcom XPU accelerators and networking equipment, with the compute assets leased to Anthropic.
Bank of America, Citi and Morgan Stanley are arranging the senior financing, while Blackstone provides the committed junior portion. Broadcom is supplying residual-value support equivalent to the senior tranche, tying part of the financial structure to the long-term value of the equipment.
Why investors should care
The transaction demonstrates how AI chips and data-center hardware are increasingly used as assets underpinning large financing deals. It could provide greater visibility for future accelerator and networking demand, but borrowing costs, equipment depreciation and customer lease payments remain important variables.
Market News analysis: growth financed by debt
The deal signals substantial appetite for computing infrastructure, not guaranteed profitability. New chip generations can change the resale value of equipment, while the ultimate commercial return depends on deployment schedules, utilization and cash generation from AI services.
What comes next?
Investors will track deliveries expected from 2027, financing conditions, Anthropic’s ability to monetize new capacity and Broadcom’s disclosure of actual shipment and revenue recognition. The financing commitment must be distinguished from future sales and earnings.
